Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce
* * * *
This book completly earned the four stars I gave it. I loved this book so much and it just fell short of amazing. A talent that Jackson Pearce has with her stories is making them all connect beautifuly to the point where you know they link but they don't have to be read in a particular order. (this is the first book, I read it second). And the other Talent she has is always making me smile. I didn't want to put this book down.
Sisters Red is a fairytale retelling of Little Red riding hood. Sisters, Scarlet and Rosie are as close as any two sisters could be. They firmly believe that they were two parts of the same heart, and that Rosie the younger sister was just born later. When these sisters were little their Grandmother was attacked by a Fenris, otherwise known as a werewolf. Scarlet bravely protected her little sister, and lost and eye and was badly scared because of it. From that point forward Scarlet became a hunter. She didn't just hunt Fenris, she lived and breathed hunting. Rosie however longed for something more, but knew she owed her life to her sister and therefor dedicated herself to hunting with her and their family friend. Rosie and Scarlet try to keep themselves and others safe while figuring out where they fit in eachother's lives as their interests and priorities change.
This book is full of sisterly love, romance, drama, and action. I strongly believe it has something for everyone. I felt a new emotion on every page and couldn't stop reading! I loved the message this story portrayed and was sad to see it end. The only thing that I can say against this book is the pacing. Some parts seemed to fly by too fast and others way too slow, and it wasn't exactly clear how much time had past during most of the story. However this was such a minor problem I don't expect it to keep anyone from enjoying the story.
Choosing the picture for this post was difficult because there are two covers for this book and I love both of them, however I just barley liked this one more.
