Guilty Pleasure Books: The Frog Princess

The Frog Princess Series by E.D Baker

I really love these books and I am not ashamed to admit it. I often get teased for reading such girly books that are a much lower level than what I normally read. However that doesn't stop me from loving every line in these books and reading them over and over.

Through out this series Princess Emeralda struggles to fit in with her mother and the rest of her family and kingdom. The only person who really understands her is her aunt, who teachers her magic. One day, after escaping to the swamp near the palace Emeralda finds herself being prposistioned for a kiss by a frog claiming to be a prince named Eadric. When everything goes wrong Emeralda has to find a cure for herself and Eadric, and learn how to use her magic.

I love this series because it is one that makes you happy to read. It is very well written and has beautiful description and although the book is fantasy it is very relatable for both young girls and boys emotionally. I love that these books not only dive deep into the lives of Emeralda and Eadric but also Emeralda's family both past and future. The relationships, both romantic and family, in this book are very touching and the characters are well rounded, having complex stories and emotions. I suggest this series for anyone who doesn't mind books a little girly and a little child like. It is truly a wonderful series that is sure to have you smiling and reaching for the next book.

This series consists of 8 books:

1: The Frog Princess
2:Dragon's Breath
3: Once Upon A curse
4: No place for Magic
5: The Salamander Spell (This one is a prequel but should be read in the right order. It is the 5th book for good reason, unlike some Prequels which can mostly be read whenever)
6:The Dragon Princess
7:Dragon Kiss
8: A Prince Among Frogs

I've had quite a few friends that I shared this blog with ask me how they are supposed to follow this blog. I think I have finally figured this all out and from what I have found there are a few ways to do this.

1.You can like this on facebook under any of the posts. The same goes for twitter

2. on the upper right side of the screen directly above the about me section there is a list of my followers, with that there should be a "join this site" button if see it just click on that

3. on the very top of the screen (this may only work if you have a gmail) there is a thin transparent ribbon that includes the sign out button and has an option that takes you to the dashboard, from the dashboard you can add the url of my blog to your followed blogs

The False Prince

The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen

* * * * *
I truly loved this book and its sequels. I honestly didn't expect to enjoy it but it soon became one of my favorites. It is a unique book that is ever better the second time around (if you have read it you know exactly why I say that). This book is full of surprises and excitement. You start expecting one thing and another thing entirely happens, and even when you do manage to guess what is going to happen you still find yourself shocked and amazed when it happens. I can't stress how great this book is.

Sage is a tricky, sly, and humorous orphan boy from a foreign country He doesn't really fit in anywhere and is always causing trouble. One day a wealthy man by the name of Bevin Connor buys him and takes him and three other orphans, all with similar features but very different personalities, to his home with unknown, secret plans. Soon Sage and the others learn his plans. Bevin wants to groom them all to be flawless gentleman, and more than that he wants to make one of him a false prince to take the place of the long lost prince Jaren after the death of the royal family. The orphans not chosen are certian to die. Will Sage use his skills and cleverness to become Bevin's prince? Or will he fail and die? Most importantly, how will Bevin use the prince he choses?

This story is intense, dramatic, funny, and exciting. I wouldn't have given it 5 stars if I didn't believe whole heatedly that it was an amazing story. Read it and let me know what you think!
